This Labor Day Weekend, I had a great deal of fun with many different canines --- and we had some fun and crazy adventures!!!
The weekend started with a visit with my favorite pup who is a Shepherd/Pitt mix --- had a visit with him every day of the weekend which was great b/c I absolutely adore him!!! My visit with him on Saturday was a bit more eventful, however, due to a thunderstorm that came into the area in the middle of our walk. The rain would not stop and thus we had to run through a great deal of water to make it back to his home --- needless to say, we were absolutely soaked. Luckily, it did not bother him too much --- I was able to get him dried off and back to his kennel to rest for the remainder of the evening. He was not happy when I left, however --- he whined and whimpered a bit. I made sure his parent was aware of our little adventure.
Saturday in general was quite eventful as I had 5 separate visits this day --- it started with another of my favorite boys, my gentle giant, Great Dane. This guy loves to go for walks and I always get interesting comments from anyone who sees me walking him which is always a bit funny! I also had a visit to 3 characters that I met for the first time --- oh my, what an adventure I had with them! They consist of a French Bulldog, a Cavapoo and then an Australian Shepherd, so quite a unique trio of pups --- I took all 3 out for a little stroll together, but when we got back to their area the Cavapoo and Bulldog wandered off. The home where they live is quite large and has a number of gates and walkways --- I discovered that the gate to the pool area was open and found the Bulldog sitting in the pool on the steps (it was pretty warm, so you can understand him wanting to take a little dip). Anyhow, it was the cutest and most comical site but I was still missing the Cavapoo until I saw him in the window looking out at me --- he got into the house via the doggy door. I was able to get into the house to try and retrieve him, but he did take me on a little dog hunt. Finally, I was able to get him and his brothers back to their doggy area. I was pretty exhausted after all of that!!! When I went back the next morning to check on these characters, the Cavapoo greeted me in the driveway --- so once again, I had to chase him down and take him to his little doggy area. By my 3rd visit with these 3 over the weekend, all went well --- we were able to go on a nice walk in the neighborhood with minimal issues.
The other pups I took care of over this long weekend were a Cattle Dog and a couple of Yellow Labs. All precious pups with energy beyond belief!
I love my side gig!!!
